Med-Lab in 2023: Recap

2023 was a special one for Med-Lab. So, we’d like to reflect on a handful of key moments that made our year so memorable:

Remembering a giant…

We can’t tell the story of 2023 without paying tribute, as we said farewell to a Med-Lab icon this year. Gonzalo Diaz I’s passing in March was difficult on the organization. His legacy continues to echo through our halls and hearts. One of the co-founders of our company, Gonzalo Diaz Sr. had an indelible impact on making Med-Lab a successful organization, one that has kept people at the center of everything the company does for decades. We look ahead to a bright future, sure to bring many exciting moments, but we do so on the shoulders of a true giant - thank you and so long, “Old Man”.

Entering the HTM Space

Perhaps the most significant addition to the business this year, Med-Lab’s Healthcare Technology Management (HTM) service offering officially launched by partnering with Broward Health to introduce multi-vendor imaging equipment service to their facility.

Comprised of multi-vendor imaging service and biomedical servicing, HTM marks a step forward in our company’s journey as we introduce equipment servicing to devices from other original equipment manufacturers.

This means we’ll be bringing the Med-Lab brand of dedication and personal touch to more customers, as we work throughout more of the facility operations at customer sites.

A Prom Night for the Ages

There are many more important things to life than business, and our team retreat in May was a testament to this. Spending a weekend at the JW Marriott Turnberry Resort, our team took much-needed rest and cut loose at the Med-Lab Prom. We not only danced the night away but recognized our team members with special awards to reflect our appreciation for their efforts.

Our largest team gathering post-Covid peak, the weekend retreat turned out to be a wonderful celebration filled with fun, team bonding, and relaxation. We hope you all had as much fun as we did. Here’s to the next one!

Getting Active In Our Community

More team events highlighted the year. July saw our team come together with Feeding South Florida to give back to communities in need by preparing meal packages for the organization to distribute. Then in October we kept the momentum going by participating in a beach cleanup at Crandon Park, an excellent opportunity to keep our environment clean. October also saw the return of our annual employee health fair, where our team was able to participate and learn more about ways to stay healthy and improve our quality of life through adopting healthy habits and practices. Sponsoring other events like the Crossing for Cystic Fibrosis, Guitars Over Guns, and Toys for Tots were important causes that we were proud to contribute to.

Capping off the year with our Thanksgiving and Holiday lunches allowed another important opportunity for us to come together as a team and celebrate our hard work, and to look ahead to what is to come in the new year.

Lastly, let's not forget the soothing sounds of construction above the HQ office offering a soundtrack to our day-to-day, impromptu workout down 9 flights of stairs courtesy of a surprise fire drill, and Paul stealing the show in our first-ever Brand Anthem video! Here’s to a momentous 2023. We can’t wait to see what the coming year has in store. Thank you for reading!
